UPDATE FOR THIS WEEKEND
FOOD IS AN ESSENTIAL ITEM AND FRESH, NON PROCESSED FOODS ARE HIGH IN NUTRIENTS AND IMMUNE BOOSTING.
Yes, we know that lockdown measures are easing BUT WE ARE STILL REQUIRED TO COMPLY with health measures at the markets - please see the details below
WE ARE COMMITTED TO PROVIDING THE BEST AND HEALTHIEST ENVIRONMENT - AND THESE ARE THE CURRENT MEASURES IN PLACE:
Advice has been received from Biosecurity that we must not provide tables and chairs or gazebo shading for community use at this time. All tables and seats will be removed or taped off. This will not change until Food Courts are permitted - possibly mid-July.
Shoppers are requested to keep a safe distance (1.5m) if queuing to purchase food AND when moving around the market.
WE ASK THAT EVERYONE KEEP THESE SPACINGS IN MIND.
For the time being all stallholders have withdrawn open food sampling. We appreciate your understanding.
Cooked food stalls will provide lidded containers where possible – food to take home & not be eaten on premises.
We will inspect all stalls and confirm the compliant installation of sneeze guards at stalls requiring this protection.
Only vendor provided disposable recyclable cups to mitigate risks are permitted until further notice.
Waste management routinely requires the responsible disposal of all food and packaging waste. We ensure these practices are followed. Waste is not to be left behind.
We are taking extra steps to ensure our markets are clean, hygienic environments for everyone by providing additional cleaning every 15 minutes. We have provided additional hand washing stations around the market itself and we will provide complimentary hand sanitizer.
Because we are trying to work within the new ‘normal’, it is requested that as much as possible of produce and goods are bagged. “If you touch it you buy it” so we ask that you please do not handle produce.
Many stallholders now have EFTpos facilities and we have also requested that money and food handling be quite separate. There is an ATM at the site if required.
Some comments received last weekend:
The Kawana Waters Farmers Market is genuine, it’s honest and it’s packed with produce that makes your mouth water.
There are so many different types of stalls at the markets from fresh organic produce, freshly squeezed lime drinks, sumptuous marinades and sauces, beautiful and aromatic skin care products, nuts and seeds, olives and tasty tapenades, herbs and just caught seafood, freshly baked bread and creamy cheeses amongst a variety of exotic and yummy foods to try and great coffee to sip as you wander round.
So indulge the senses, relax, taste, wander and unwind as you discover an array of sumptuous and flavoursome organic fruits and vegetables, gourmet condiments and exquisite fruity jams amongst some of the most beautifully hand crafted products you will find. Find out more about the products we showcase here.
Grab a coffee and some breakfast, take the time to enjoy your experience at the Kawana Waters Farmers Markets while you listen to the live music and let the kids go wild on the jumping castle.
We look forward to seeing you at the Farmers Markets EVERY Saturday.
A Participatory Guarantee System or P.G.S Accreditation is all about organic certification to empower farmers and strengthen communities.
Because of all the health and safety issues created when you have animals around food.
If you are interested in opening a stall with us, we've now made it easy to apply online.
